About the Session
Join educators from the Vancouver Art Gallery and Burnaby Art Gallery as they discuss the opportunities and obstacles of transitioning to online learning. Programmers from the Vancouver Art Gallery will share what they have learned from their experimental webinars, virtual tours, and interactive workshops. The Burnaby Art Gallery team will showcase their transition to online programming through a hands-on workshop for LMME participants. The workshop will look at the interwoven worlds of math and art throughout history, and investigate how math inspires art.
Participants will need a few supplies for this workshop: Scissors, glue, pencil and eraser, paper.

Christina Jones
She/Her
Christina Jones has been examining and practicing art education on the unceded ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) for 10 years. Christina holds an MA in Art Education from the University of British Columbia as well as a Visual Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario.
She began her commitment to education and pedagogy in 2011 when she joined the Vancouver Art Gallery as a volunteer docent. Since then she has worked in the Schools, Families and Adult VAG programs, inviting thousands of Gallery participants to make meaning through looking, thinking, discussing and making.
Since March 2020 Christina has created a range of interactive online art gallery education programs for the public as well as a variety of class rooms and community groups. As the Family Programs Coordinator her theoretical practice is rooted in responsive, dialogical and reciprocal education, creating space for curiosity, new understandings and diverse voices.
