Keynote Speaker: Jill Baird
The conference includes an address by keynote speaker, Jill Baird, an established and well-respected educator, museum professional, activist, and community advocate. Dr. Baird, who is the long-time Curator of Education at the Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver, has a PhD in Museum Education with a focus on collaboration between First Nations and non-First Nations museum professionals. Dr. Baird will speak about to how the idea of "landed wisdom" guides her practice across cultures and contexts; how coming to know people, places and situation offer new opportunities and requires constant self-reflection.
